Care Quality Commission (CQC) Report
Following our Care Quality Commission Inspection on 11th November 2014, we are pleased to announce that our report by CQC has now been published. Please read the full report. We have been awarded a GOOD report in all areas of care to all our patients.
We are very grateful to all our patients who contributed on the day of the inspection whether you were directly involved in the conversations with the inspectors or indirectly through the comment cards you might have filled in. We would also like to thank the members of our Patient Participation Group who found some time to meet with the inspectors on that day.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.
We hope you enjoy having a look around the site and familiarising yourself with some of the online features such as ordering a repeat prescription. Whatever your thoughts, be sure to let us know by giving us your feedback. Comments and suggestions are always a great way of helping us continue to enhance the way we look after you.
Access & Parking
Our surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair. Parking spaces in our car park are for doctors and staff only. However there are two allocated spaces for disabled patients. There is plenty of parking available on the roads surrounding the health centre.
Book Appointment and Order Prescriptions Online with SystmOne
Please note that we are now operating new service known as Electronic Prescribing Service which will allow us to send your prescription straight to your nominated pharmacy. Please call the Practice should you wish to nominate your preferred pharmacy for your medication collection.
Before you are able to use this service you must first have access to your personal registration information. Come to the Surgery and ask the receptionist for details of how to register for SystmOnline. You will be given a letter with your own unique registration details.
Alternative method for ordering repeat prescriptions online
If you are unable to use the SystmOnline service for ordering repeat prescriptions you can order via our secure online form.
GP Net Earnings
Publication of Mean GP Net Earnings
It is a contractual requirement for General Medical Services practices to publish on their website the mean net earnings (e.g. average) of partners, salaried GP’s and any Locum who has worked in the practice for over six months. The published earnings relate to NHS General Medical Services delivered to patients.
Additionally the practice is required to publish the number of full and part time GP’s in the practice.
The average pay for GP’s working at The Redwood Practice in the last financial year was £63,438 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs, 1 part time GP and 2 Locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
Named Accountable GP
The practice is required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP.
Individual patients will be informed of their named accountable GP at the first appropriate interaction with the practice i.e. when registering with the Practice.
For convenience if you have a medical card your accountable GP will be the named doctor you are registered with. Patients registering over the last 2-3 years will not have received a medical card as these are no longer routinely sent when registering with a new GP.
However, the practice does keep a record of your registered (accountable) GP. If you wish to be told the name of your accountable GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery.
Please note: there is no need to telephone the practice for this information.
Where a patient expresses a preference as to which GP they have been assigned, the practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate this request.
Your named GP will not be available at all times and if your needs are urgent, you may need to discuss them with an alternative doctor
